Mr.BassMan Posted May 11, 2012 Report Share Posted May 11, 2012 I have 2 15" L7s, and a zx2500. I've blown these l7s THREE times. Is the zx2500 too much power to run to them when they're in a 9^3 box, tuned to 31hz? Everytime i play them, the gain is on the 3rd tick (2 ticks before half) and bass boost around +9db (out of 18db).. They STINK terribly, and move so fucking much. They're moving atleast 2-3 inches.. The recent replacements spider ripped, and I'm going to glue it back on.. But, should i sell them? Or just find a smaller amp? I have upgraded electrical, so i know im getting the full power outta this amp.. Heres a pic of the box.. Guest Posted May 11, 2012 Report Share Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) bass boost is your problem. never use it. on anything if you're wired to 2 ohms, you're giving them like double the power that they should be getting. But if i turn the bass boost off at that gain level, they aren't loud at all.. and they barely move. Is is safe to increase the gain to make up for no bass boost?
