shake_junt Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 want to build a box for 1 18 going to fit behind my seats in a 2001 chevy s10 xtreme extended cab the space i have to put the box is: 22" tall, 40" across, 15" deep wanted to be tuned to 33 hrz with sub and port facing forward if anyone could give me some ideas id appeciate it

fecupe2001 Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 that might be a very stiff suspension, if that´s the case, you definitely need a big ass box since you have such a low amount of power before impedance rise and voltage drops; Sub and port forward you said? why? you should get louder by placing the port side or even up, why didn´t you recone that sub to a 15" in order to place it facing up? sub up and port side on that car should play WAY louder, also, you have a VERY small room for that sub on such a low power IMHO anyways, with those measures you have, i would definitely go with some aeros, slot port would end up shrinking your box size way too much for that sub and power!! you could try 2 6" aeros about 19" long, that would give you around 5 cubic feet and a 34 hz tuning using double baffle, and it´s still small box and port area for that sub and power (sorry for been repeating the same thing over and over by the way), if you want a slot port on a 33 hz tuning, your box would end up been WAYYYYYY too small, i guess your only option is going with aeros bro, you can build them yourself using PVC tubes.... shake_junt Posted May 17, 2012 Author Report Posted May 17, 2012 well my box could be as talll as it wanted to be. I kinda wanted it below the window line. So what if it could be 32" tall, 40"across, and 15" deep.....then what would be my option
