Baffle Question

Recommended Posts

So I'm coming to the finish line for my build, and the next step is cutting the mounting holes for my woofers and attaching the baffle. Issue is that the woofers are going to be almost butt up against each other on the vertical. I measured it out, and the outer width of the woofer is 15.25", and the inside (actual diameter of mounting circle) is 13.75".

My question is:

Are the 1.5 inches of wood I'll have between the two woofers that meet each other on the baffle be enough to keep the baffle strong? I know it's kind of hard to imagine it, but maybe someone who has done a wall in a tight squeeze will understand. I just want to know if the baffle will be strong enough at those points where the woofers are butt up against each other. It's a double layer baffle with 3/4 birch, will be reinforced with two 1.5x1.5's for bracing.

Thanks for any help!
