thacarter546
Im trying to design a box that fits in my truck more comfortable. I have a tc-3000 15" run off a A3000db in a 97 s10 xcab. I think i could fit a box with the sub facing forward and external pvc ports (dont have the money for aeros yet) at the very rear of the box facing towards the roof. Right now i have a slot ported box facing forward right now and my passenger seat is not very usable. I heard that lack of space can be made by using lots of port area? Is this valid only in spl applications? I was hoping to use about 3 cubes for this box. and 4 inch pvc ports 3 possibly four, but i need to keep the length down so they dont cover my rear window up. Is this a good or bad idea? would someone be willing to help me if i go get my measurements?
Decaf
give me measurments, and ill see what i can do u'd need at least three if not four ports, which means they will be long too but id be glad, whats ur max dimensions
thacarter546
I can go to about 16" deep i can go 18-20" high to make room for the external ports the ports cant go over about 32-36 inches high. and for width i got about 32 inches (if i can relocate my batteries then i got more width
Decaf
why not build a box with sub up slot port up, that way you dont need to mess around with pvc
thacarter546
i just wanted to try pvc i could do them internal too i guess and make the box 22 inches high or so I just wanna try em ive never done it before, and it seems easier than building another slot port. Decaf
idk, its hard to attach the pvc to wood, you have to have a perfect circle, and then glue/screw them in... personally i think another slot port would be better in a truck with sub up, port up, well at least port up. it gives you more airspace to work with and better air movement if ur going to use pvc 3cuft with (4)3" pvc each 22.5" in length @ 32hz 28sqin port 3cuft with (3)4" pvc each 30" in length @32hz 37sqin port 3cuft with (4)4" pvc each 41" in length @ 32hz 50sqin port
