reggtoby
alright the other day i started working on my project in the chassis fab class I am in. I am putting my 1988 dodge ram 50 with air springs in the rear for a class grade. the parts that will be going in it at the moment 5 gal tank 480C viair compressor slam specialties SS8 1/2in line 3/8in SMC valves Its gonna have a triangulated 4link and the complete back half of the truck will have new frame rails and cross members. If i had more time to also do the front it would get the bagged also. Ive got 29 days to finish it and have it driving back to kansas when i graduate. So i started yesterday and got the bed off and started getting all my measurments. I knew the truck was lowered already 3in all around. the frame was so rusty. today set at ride height and then welded to frame stands this was sad, I knew it had been C-notched at some point in its life but never knew it was the haggerd I will be working on this thing every day class so ill update as i go. thanks for reading

Figured out where my cut marks where gonna be on the frame. Then went to town with a plasma cutter. No joke there was about pint sized paint can full of rust chips and dirti inside the frame rails. When i find what my roommate did with my computer ill put some pictures up

reggtoby
Now if i had time and and the money to do so this thing would be sfbd. But its way out of the question at the moment. here are some pictures I need to do some cleaning up on all the cuts didnt get time today. I left that outside frame rail edge to use for the boxed end on the cross member this was just full of dirt and rust from who knows how long. I will be getting all my metal next week and slowly put it back together.
