Weird sub problem

I have a weird problem I ended up getting a good deal on 2 12inch Rockford Fosgate p1 8ohm subs in a ported box with a P8004 amp. So I put them in my trunk and can get good sound out of them if i reverse the polarity on one of the subs they pound. Without reversing one of them it seems like they are cancelling each other out and all u see is the subs moving but no sound. 1 sub is bridged on the front channel and the other is bridged on the rear channel of the amp. Should I wire them to a 4ohm load and just use 1 channel of the amp or is there something more that I should do that I'm missing?

Also the inside the box it separates the 2 subs from each other if that makes a difference.

i had a pair of the exact subs you mention and they where pretty impressive for what they are

double check your wiring, confirm the polarity of the subs , take a 9 volt battery and connect it to the speaker input and if the polarity is correct the cone should pop out . if the cone pops in the polarity is reversed . wiring mono is probably a good idea as well

If they are seperated then that's weird that you aren't getting anything. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your subs were in the same enclosure and one was reverse polarity, THEN you would kinda be canceling out the air movement. vids? wire them to 4 ohms for sure, the amp is only 4ohm stable bridged right?

Well after finally just pulling the subs out of the box it turns out that the po had reversed the colors of the wires on one of the subs so when I thought I was reversing one of them I was actually putting them back in phase. Did that and fine tuned the amp a little and all I can say is WOW. I was running a real old pair of pioneers back when they used the ohm symbol and thought those sounded pretty good well really no comparison after finally getting these straightened out. Was starting to loose a little respect for Fosgate because with just one of these wired wrong the pioneers i had would run circles around these but that has changed. Sorry took so long to get back have a lot of stuff going on atm. Thanks to everyone for the help it was greatly appreciated.
