96 blazer no more now 96 eclipse

I was Just noticing that your gains are at .2volts and i think your sub is on channel B, because its the one with the LPF switch on. But the channel B appears to be in Stereo operation and your LPF is at 50hz. If you don't mind me saying, you may benefit by backing that gain off a bit, bring you lpf up to about 80hz and run it in "mono" and bridge that channel. If i am way off here let me know. In that pic your sub isn't hooked up, so i don't know how you normally run it.

Keep us updated on your build, Those Blazers can get stupid loud if you do it right!

yeah i have it briged and i thought i had it on mono guess not as for the gain i honestly never paid much attention to it in fact i dont think ive touched the gain on the subs channel since i bought it from my ex coworker....imma go take a pic of how its set up and see if i can change it to your recomendations and test it right quick then post the pics...

couldnt get any pics phones battery is too low so thatll have to wait til tomorrow...but i tried a few different things and heres what i found...

changing the output from stereo to mono no efect

raising the cut off to the 70 hash mark made a lil bit louder especially on the song "on my level"

lowered the gain to .3 instaly dropped bass out of the equation no idea why but yeah....

lowered the gain to .5 brought the bass back but at a significantly lower sound and pressure(i.e. what little air movement i was getting inside the blazer completely disappeared)

tryed it at 70 hz on mono at .2 and i sounded a tiny bit louder...

oh btw can someone help me understand what ive written and highlighted??

What is saying is that, if you somehow can keep a perfect 4ohm load on the amp and keep voltage at 14.4 the amp will produce 60watts in each of the 4 channels or 180 watts in bridged mode per channel (2 channels) @ 1% distortion. or... 90x4 at 2ohm.

Since that isn't possible most the time you can figure probably 75% of that in the real world since a speakers resistance changes as it moves and as the coil temp rises.

It also says your amp is not stable at 2ohm in bridged mode.

also the bass boost is centered at 90hz on the b channel only.I don;t know what the roll off slope is for that but lets just say 12db/octave, so it will boost frequencies above and below that freq too but just less. If your low pass filter is below 90hz then it wont really do anything.

Just something from my experience, if you start getting around 100hz for LPF you get vocals playing on your sub, that might be bad for sound quality, but i can help if your mids are really crappy.

edit

Using mono will only help in certain situations, for instance; Lets say a song has a bass line that for some reason plays on the left channel only (or maybe a kick drum) if you are running your sub off the right channel and your amp is in stereo you will never hear that bass. If the amp is in mono it will sum the separate channels into one so you won't have that problem. Does that make sense?

ok that makes sense but what does stable/not stable mean like what does it cause and everything?

and by that logic i am getting a max (not saying im getting all of it just that, that's the most i can get) of 180wrms since my sub is 4ohm right?

Not stable means it will run hot hot hot, and maybe die. While your sub is 4ohm, once it starts moving and and heats up and you figure speaker wire into the equation, you wont likely see all the power, Plus unless you can keep 14.4v at the amp you will lose more power.

Take my 9105d for instance; Before i upgraded my power cable, i clamped it. It is powering 2 4ohm 12's wired to 2ohms. I got voltage drop to 12.5 at full tilt. it was only doing 550watts or so at max unclipped output. it suppose to do 900 at 14.4 at 2ohms. Get the picture?

yeah i get it i thought thats what it ment and so unstable means it will continuosly overheat with the possibility of dying?

sorry for so many questions btw
