Well, I built a prototype stage, and it came out pretty well. 5/8" plywood (just to test) 2x4 frame in 4' x 2' sections (technically), 14x3" screws all around, and it came out REALLY stable. Both me and my father jumped on it and stood on it and it barely moved at all. Looking good so far, for a temporary solution..
