polochris
and that is one of the most false statements Ive read all day. Running the amp at 5/6 gain is almost max for one (which is bad unless your deck only has .5 volt preamp outputs). Again you must adjust your gain differently when using the bass boost. Using bass boast with your amp will result in a lower gain setting versus not using bassboost. You can have the same exact setup and only have 1 thing different (the headunit), if one headunit only puts out 2 volts on the preamp output, your gain will need to be signifficaly higher then a headunit that has 4 volt preamp outputs. ive got a meter i do it of that? how do we no what headunit he has? You can decrease the gain if distortion is been heard. KICKER Livin' Loud
polochris
I heard you don't want to have even the bass boost half way. Is this true? I wouldnt use it and be careful with your gain try get hold of a meter or find out your preout voltage of your headunit and match it to that read your amplifier and headunit instructions normally in them, and youll be fine but dont use boost. cichlidfort
First of all, what is a DMM? So what do I do, measure the voltage I am getting and put that as my gain? I am a bit lost. Care to go into detail? Thanks. My headunits preamp voltage is 2. 2008 Chevy Impala (undercover cop style) Setup in the makings
