certifiednut
I figured i would post one of my cars on here. I have been lurking for months. I bought this car from a girl my fiance worked with. She said i could have the car for 600$ but it will not start, and if it would start , it wouldn't move. So i decided to take the chance. I put a battery in it, and it started right up, and the only reason it wouldn't move was the clutch was completely destroyed. For the last couple years i had a pair of RF p2d28 in a ported box on a hifonics bx1000d and my highs ran off of an alpine mrv-f250. a friend sold me a jbl 1200 watt amp, and i got a powerbass 3xl-151d on craigslist for 50$, i decided to put it in this mustang. and ended up replacing everything. Powerbass recommends a 5cf box tuned to 28 hz, but i didn't have quite enough room, so i built a box that is roughly 4cf tuned to 30hz. TLDR; equipment head unit: eclipse cd3100 amps: sub amp- jbl 1200.1 highs- concept cc1004, 100x4 rms doors; older set of polk audio dx series components rear; pioneer 5x7(were already in the car) sub; powerbass 3xl-151d The box is 36w x 12t x 24d with a double baffle, and a 1.75x1.75 brace with rounded corners in the center. I used 1 6in aero port, port area per foot came out to only 7.21in per foot, but i decided to give it a try and i like the way it sounds. certifiednut
outside of car, kinda dirty. the factory speaker grills, you can't tell in the pic, but it is all busted and scratched, are on the right, and the start of the new speaker mounting pieces are there on the left. this is what they will look like when done, more or less. installed, i dont think they look too bad. im not a big fan of the blue interior, but it is better than red i suppose. my dirty ass work area. a small start, i got tired, so i stopped taking any pics. here is a pic of the port. you can see my Jabba in the background. here the box is finished, i painted it with rustoleum hammered finish paint, with a foam roller. here is my box, and both amps installed.
