How much power to put out with this amp / sub combo?

Recommended Posts

520+520 = 1040.

1050-1040 = 10.

There is 10 watts of rated difference.

Impedence curve is the only other thing thats going to influence whether bridged or separate will be different, but it wont mean much.

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.

So when its says 520rms, is it putting out 520rms per sub, or 520 to both and splitting the power? Thats all im confused on.

520 to each. i wouldn't bother using the amp in stereo mode though. 99% of the time one woofer will be working slightly harder than the other one because bass in music is rarely split 50/50 along the left and right channels.

520rms is per channel. There are two channels.

When you bridge channels you are combining them into a single channel.

bridged is usually best.

dude. running it in 2 channel mode or in bridged mode will yield the exact same fucking amount of power.

the reason your friend make your sub smoke is because he was clipping the amp. aka having bass boost on, volume too high, or gain too high, or a combination. you should smack your friend. never let someone else play your system for you.
