Don't Push The Red Button!

OK.

I was messing with my amp last night when I noticed the bass knob didn't work anymore.

One of the wires had come loose so I popped it open and put it back.

So it gave me an idea.

All that controls a bass know is a variable resistor or Potentiometer, Pot for short.

Since it only uses two wires you can make a "Boom" Switch.

Just cut the bass remote wire, there will be two wires inside of that, connect those to opposites sides of any type of switch. (Pushbutton, slide, toggle.)

And you have an instant boom button.

Just have you friends sit in your car and turn it up.

They'll be thinking it's not boomin' until you hit the little red button in the Dash, center console or steering wheel if you're creative.

Upside is I found out that when I had the knob at full tilt then un-plugged it, it was slightly louder.

If you don't fell like chopping up a good bass knob, go to radio shack and look for a headphone jack that has only tow connections.

And use that.

You will need to run wire from that up to your dash though.
