Williamc141
I am looking to put together a somewhat cheap system. I have a 99 silverado ext cab, I put the back seat up so space isnt too much of an issue. I have a box/amp/sub in mind but im open to suggestions. -amp- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22707_Hifonics-HFi1500D.html -sub- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17531_Power-Acoustik-MOFO-122X.html -box- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14600_Custom-Enclosures-12-Round-Hole-Long-Rear-Slot-Ported-Enclosure.html open for changes!! b-dubs89
the hiphonics amp might be ok for the money , my experience with poweraccoustic is not good , the box you could probably build something just as good or better . i too am on a budget , i have had a some rf p1 12's and 15's thought they were descent for the money . love my alpine mrp-m500 amp . very happy with my jl 13w1 subs to . since joining smd , it has occured to me i have been fishing off a small pier ,as far as car audio brands . been thinking more about sundown audio subs . Williamc141
I might look into the sundown subs. They do have a pretty good rep.

Sonic
Ditch the sub and box, amp is decent. And yeah sundown is where you should be looking. Edited June 20, 2012 by Sonic

Williamc141
Should I try to build my own box? Or is there a "better made" box than the ones posted?

87chevyboi
i had the old versions of the mofo's on 3000 watts to 2 12's and them bitches drilled in a prefab box. i built a box for em and they were hittin hard as hell. IMO they are ok subs for a lower budget but want to bang they are ok. jmo and dont go prefab trust me, you can build one to the specifications and it will sound a million times better Quote My build aka Snow White whats wrong with fat chicks? they are like mopeds, as long as your friends dont see you riding it, they are a blast! hahah I am dumb as a stump. I live in the south and we are all dumb here.
Sonic
Should I try to build my own box? Or is there a "better made" box than the ones posted? Building a box to the subwoofer specification, your listening taste and specific vehicle would be what you need, instead of a pre fab box. You can get a lot of help on this forum. If you are handy and have some tools I can design a box for you and give you the drawing to build. Pm me if and when you are ready.
