Colin - STAPUFT
You only stress the alternator when you put a very huge load on it. (Say if you drain your battery very hard and then fire off your engine with the battery in the weakened state). I wouldn't think that what amps you gave would kill your OEM Alt unless you drive around on blast. As for batteries, I would start with the largest strongest one under the hood you could fit. I'm not saying brand names, I would just recommend an AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) battery. (I say this as I run a lead acid, but I will be getting an AGM soon...). If that one doesn't turn out to be strong enough, then maybe get another. At the end of the day, all the batteries in the world won't save you if you can't charge them... Riley Evan Houser
Okay.. My battery is under my back seat instead of under the hood. So basically upgrade the original..wire the 2nd in with the first?
Colin - STAPUFT
Yep. With fuses! If you do a 2nd battery, you have to fuse both sides between the front and back battery.
