Guest
the LOC was probably turned up enough to make it output significantly more voltage than what your headunit preouts can output. hence why its much quieter with the new headunit. thats what im thinking. did you change the gain at all? 412 CVX
gain wasn't touched from previously. sphinx, where would we find those settings? i really hope the LOC wasn't the problem. It should be a LOT louder than it is. it's to the point where it's barely noticable. you can't even see any excursion. I had the same amp on a pair of JL 12's at 2 ohms with an LOC with my first system, worked fine. upgraded my headunit to an alpine CDE-103BT. and it made it slightly louder. Guest
let me ask this. how high were the knobs set on the LOC when you had it installed?
412 CVX
I have no idea what the LOC was putting out. it's still chilling out behind his headunit still hooked up. I don't recal the LOC having knobs either Edited June 23, 2012 by 412 CVX Quote Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. Trey_Dog650
its not that the loc is the problem, but from my understanding if the loc is putting out 5 volts and the HU is only putting out 2, then the loc should be louder if the gain is the same. you have to tune the gain on the amp since there is different input voltage edit: damn ninjas Edited June 23, 2012 by Trey_Dog650 Quote 13 Kia Forte Build! 07 Hyundai Accent Build ***Super Seller*** N8ball2013 And then he gets to say ok all you guys were right. im sorry for being a dummy poo poo head. Guest
every time you change a source unit, you need to readjust gains.
