colin1013
Hi all I have a Rockfock Power T2 12" and Power 1500-1bd I currently have a 2cu box wit 2 4inch ports. I only get 138dbs which i am unhappy about. Rockford recommend a 2.85cu slot port box. will this be the best option? Ps: this is going in a polo hatch? Whats the best dbs i can expect from this sub? Thanks
Decaf
you can expect 135-143 with that prolly, but its all in the install and there are too many variables the bigger box with a higher tuning and more port surface area all will get you louder so long as its within rockfords specs so id do 2.9cuft @ 35hz with ~30sqin port round port walls, use 45s on corners, resin the insides, brace the box all of those should/could make a difference in db's also
banginAltima
I am hitting a 145.4 on the dash 146.9 in the kick with 2 T115D4's and a single T10001bd. Got them in a 5.6 cube box, subs up ports forward. Got four 4" externel areo ports. Tuned to 35 Hz peaking at 41. All stock electrical with no extra batteries and 2/0 wire (not 2 gauge). banginAltima
sorry dude. i was thinking you had two subs but i see you only got one. you should try to stay away from slot ports in a small box. see about getting some areo ports, they are only 10 to 12 dollars each. you don't need any more port area then that. do you have the sub ran at 1 ohm? if you are just after spl, you need a small box. if you want some good lows built a big box. try do build a cheap box just for testing. try to make it as square as possible. try sub and port on the same side. move the box in all directions when testing(placement of box makes a difference. point the sub back,up,forward. then cover the port and put them on the side of the box. move it all around etc. Quote If you build it, db's will come... banginAltima
after looking and checking two four inch port might be a bit much. edit: when i was looking up the port info i looked at the t1 12. two 4 inch ports are correct. philip
i would do the rockford powerful enclosure. easier to build than the round ported boxes.
