soundstream15 Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 so my new alpine deck came in today, its a alpine cde-122. its really nice and way better then my kenwood. it really makes my speakers louder, however my subs are not as loud as they where with my kenwood, i have the sub level all the way up and it and gain is half way up, i turn the volume up to 25 and my clipping light doesnt come on at all untill i go up to 30 but it still dont seem to be as loud, the speakers sound like crap so i assume im clipping, i have no dd-1 but plan to buy one soon. is there a setting that will make my subs hit harder, or do i need to turn the gain up more. since idk where it clips at i have it on 25 and it sounds really good but subs are not loud..hope this makes sense
Redcorn245 Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 on my alpine if you hold down the volume knob the loud setting will come on and it makes everything crazy loud. and also if you have a sub system option switch it to system 2. i think you should have the settings that i have

Guest Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 okay first off, Loud functions are fucking useless for high volume situations. the alpine probably has a lower preout voltage, which would make sense that your subs are quieter. you HAVE to retune every amplifier in your system once you change source units, aka headunits.
