Is your gain possibly set too high CAUSING this distortion? I would've guess bottoming out the coil, but you are not saying this issue happens on the low lows. mechanical noise could definitely be tinsel slap, or a coil rubbing. If its distorting at high AND low volumes, I think you have a problem and need to get the sub out. You need to DMM the coils to see if they are reading properly? If the sub is firing back into the box against the PORT, that could cause an unloading issue. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
