locomanny569
does the second one have to be in the same CCA zone? Nope it could be a billion, doesn't matter lol really? so when i start the car it only start with the first one? Yes. Thats what a battery isolator does. Allows power into the battery (from the alt, thru the main, into the 2nd) but doesn't allow power to go from the 2nd to the main. ok this is were it gets messy when it come to batts because every one tells me i dont need a isolator is i wiring them parallel?? You definitely don;t need an isolator. Only time a battery isolator would help is if you were running a non agm battery up front.
locomanny569
ok just one more last time so if i have a 800 CCA batt in front i could put any CCA batt in the rear with out a isolator or do i need the same CCA as the front which i might just do.. CleanSierra
CCA has nothing to do with multiple battery set ups. The only reason you would run an isolator is if you were gonna play with the car OFF and wanted the system to NOT pull from the starting battery so you could START the car after playing with the car off. ORRR, if you were running a flooded lead acid battery along with an AGM battery. Just get a battery that FITS your battery tray, and satifies the cranking amps required of your Caddy. Its that simple dude. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
