Because I'd been driving an SUV before it had huge speaker "places" in all four doors, places for tweeters on the rear cargo door and stuff. My new car has one small circle for a little speaker on driver and passenger doors and a couple places on top and behind the rear seats in back for like a 6 in sub or something but that's it!! I'm horrible with custom fab, haven't even tried ... so where would I put new speakers? I'm going for really loud mids and highs so I'll need lots of speakers ...
