Measuring port for a T-line

When measuring port length in a T-line box does inverting the sub have an effect on length? Or is length calculated before sub goes in and therefore the sub has no effect on length wether inverted or or mounted normaly?

It's calculated before the sub goes in for sure.. I believe inverted is actually easier to tune precisely. The displacement of the sub is very hard to account for in terms of length.
