I was hoping there was something under the hood I could tap into. The new alternator has 1 wire and the factory plug has two. The One wire goes to one in the plug and the other wire in the plug needs power from a switched ignition source

Anyone put a 270 amp alt in a mk4 golf? I need a switche ignition source that has power only in the run position.

I'm running the sub at 2 ohm. I was going to get 2 if not 3 more batteries for the trunk but if you think 1 more will do ill try that and if I need more then so be it

I have a mechman 270 amp alt and a D3400 under the hood. I'm highballing the 4100 it could be more like 3600 but idk what the sundown SAZ 2500 puts out at 15 volts. So 4100 is the number I'm using. Snow drifter what are your voltages kind of drop are you seeing

Whats a good reserve capacity to have for 4100watts? i was thinking of having a bank of both d and xp batteries to try and save some weight for my daily driver.

When measuring port length in a T-line box does inverting the sub have an effect on length? Or is length calculated before sub goes in and therefore the sub has no effect on length wether inverted or or mounted normaly?

Yea definitely get an xs power battery. That alone should fix your dimming problem but the cap will also do the same. Get the battery, and the cap can only help.

I'm building a 3600 watt system with a cap. I have a d3400 under the hood. I want to get 2 more for the trunk. Which will work better the D or XP?

i would like to build a ground pounder with either 2 or 4 12" DC lvl 5 subs. for the amp i was thinking of using some alpine MRP M2000 rated at 2000 rms at 2 ohms, its a mono amp. if i hook up 2 dc's to it rated at 2 ohms total does the amp still put out 2000 rms to each sub. or should i go with a different amp all together. any and all feed back is welcome.
