  1. I've got some work in a closely related industry called telematics. You'll have to travel a lot, and I don't offer benefits (hopefully soon I will) but the pay is good. You must know how to use a multi-meter and have basic automotive tools. Experience disassembling auto interiors is a huge plus. Also you will need a reliable vehicle. Doesn't need to be a van or truck, but a subcompact won't work either. A small SUV is great. We work in the Midwest, from CO to KY, WI to TX. Generally I try to keep you as close to home as I can. You will likely be almost completely independent once we roll you out, so expect the good and the bad with that fact. Let me know if you're interested by sending a resume or short work description to [email protected].
  2. Just accepted a job as an audio technician, so I guess I'd better rejoin the society.

  5. For real, this isn't even my sub but thanks for the prompt and positive reply! I'll recomend you guys again!
  6. So my buddy bought 4 e8s (d2s) a while back and I installed them under his seat in a pretty cool stealthy setup. He called me the other day and said one wasn't working. I looked the sub over after pulling it and this is what it looks like: There is nearly a centimeter gap where the slugs, including the bottom plate, have slidden away from the top plate, pinching the coil. The coil will not move at all. I've never heard of such a thing, and have no explanation for how it could have happened. My guess is too thick of glue? Anyway he knows nothing about the subject, so I though I'd ask for him, with the added utility of a picture vs. a phone call. The sub was not abused, seeing less than 300rms in a sealed enclosure off of a Memphis 1000D (4subs). The coil does not smell burnt, there is definitely no over-excursion happening. They sounded great up until this.
  7. That's neat, in speaking of doing weird things you should look into a crown amp, or one of the JBL/Crown car amps. I'd send you one if I had one haha.
  8. I just made my first audio purchase in 5 months. Skar LP1000.1D for a cool hundred fifty? Yes please.

  9. Finishing my buddy's truck tonight, might even put up pictures.
