hazeone312 Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 I have a 2001 GMC Savana Limited SE. My dad installed 2 15 inch Type R's 4ohm in a ported box with a Powerbass 2000. It sounded really nice but we had to switch amps cause he wanted it for his car. We got a Cadence ZRS-9 I believe, someone correct me if I named it wrong but it has "4000 watts" of power. He hooked it all up with a compacitor (not sure what brand) & a duralast battery. It doesn't have the "Big 3"/wiring set-up or the right battery for the amp but it still works. The problem is the settings on the amp. I'm clueless on how to set them up. I don't really understand how to do it but I would love to learn. It doesn't sound as good as it did with the powerbass. It's not hitting all the frequencies & those that do get played sound nasty. I can take some pictures tomorrow to help you guys better understand my set-up. But for now can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.
CleanSierra Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 You need to set your gain, find someone with an O-scope or DD-1 to set those for you. You CAN set them with a DMM(digital multi-meter). You need bass boost down all the way, as it can cause clipping. Research what clipping is, I won't get into that with you. And subsonic free needs to be set as well, maybe 28 Hz. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Thanks though, ill definitely put the BB down and set the subsonic down to that. What about Low Pass Freq & Preamp input Voltage?
yUmadBro Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Low pass freq should be set to around what your box is tuned to. So say you have a 35 hz box try setting your frequency as close as you can to that. Like cleansierra said if you set your subsonic to 28 hz it wont allow your sub to play anything below 28, which may damage your subwoofer. Someone can correct me if im wrong

I would suggest read up on this site, find out about the dd-1 and cc-1 and buy them. Both amazing products. The low pass filter should be set to your preference. Mine is at 63 HZ because i use it off of my deck. it will just cut off any freq's higher than what its set to. the sub sonic filter should be set to around 9 - 11 HZ lower than your box is tuned to. Welcome to the Forum Man Thanks alot! I'll try looking for & setting everything thing up tomorrow. It's getting pretty late & I really don't wanna work on this around my neighborhood.
