one sub or two

Ok, so I want your imput on this. one alpine type S 12" @ on 650 watts, or two on 450. Its in a 1999 Ford F150. Since they are ratted at 500 RMS. I don't want to under power them..... what do you guys think?

Cone area and 2x 450 is 900rms so more power, some cone = spl

I think if you gave max dimensions that we would be able to use to determine what you can have in your car. I agree too. If I could do 2 subs on my amp as opposed to 1 sub the same size then I would go with the subs.

Cone area is king when it comes to SPL

no its 450 watts total power at 4 ohms, they are d4 coils, so if i put in two, it will run at 4 ohms, getting 450 total, 225 per sub. if I do one, it can run at 2 ohms and give onw sub 650

its in a single cab 1999 ford f150 SVT lightining. i can fit two easy, but want you guys input if i should do one or two.
