Amp Protection mode OFF and ON

I do believe you get what you pay for, but here goes. I bought an Audiopipe AP-1800.1D to push two SA 8 V2's. The amp did wonders for about a month. Since I been having the amp (almost a month) I've had the gain to about 1/4. So just the other day I decided to turn the gain a little tiny bit past half way. It hit for a while then the protection mode light came on. The light doesn't stay on though, its off and on. I still can hear the subs when the protection mode turns off for like a millisecond.

im gonna be a dick and say it, but thats what you get for buying that amp.

sucks that it happened though. time to upgrade!

edit: you sure the woofers didnt blow? test em with a multimeter

Also what ohms do you have them wired to?

My subs work, because when I turn my truck on, the amp will work for about 30 seconds with the volume on low and the bass is there and clean.

The subs are wired at a 2ohm load.

Try jumping the remote wire to a 12v source like your 12v in on amp

Try a new pair of RCAs.
