Ok since I just recently put a new system in my truck I have now given my kid the bug. He picked up one of the same amps I have a RF powerbd 500.1(lucky *** kid grabbed it of craigslist for 60 bucks). So he has that and a nice Clarion HU and a set of MA audio 5.25 comps I had laying around. Well he just came walking in with with 3 of these http://www.lanzar.com/sku/maxp124d Picked them up BNIB for 125$ for 3 Goin to wire them series series parallel for a 1.33 ohm load or series series series for a 2.67 ohm load(will take suggestions for which would be best). I dont know much about these subs. Does anyone around here know anything about them and how will they do on the RF amp (birthsheet says 743 watts at 2ohms). You guys think like me I and that these may hold up long enough till he gets a nice set of subs or for a 17yr kid working for the summer and limited budget wise they will hold up?

i'd just use one of those subs, wired to 2 ohms. no point in having like 2000w worth of woofers on a 500w amp. would be better off having just 1 of them on it, in my opinion.

My manin thing is are those subs any good? I mean I have heard nightmare stories about Lanzar subs. He is out upgrading his big 3 right now got him some 1/0 to run from amp to batt and to do a new ground.

they are.....they dont get low but they do get loud on higher notes.------.more or less it gets loud from 34hz and up.....so for bumping some local music its a good sub...

had 2 12s of these and they were pretty solid and good....i might buy another set of these sooner or later

Was thinking about tuning in the 34-38hz range not too sure where exactly yet so the subs might do well with that they are going to be in the back of a 2002 Subaru Outback wagon guess I need to check and see what the vehicle res feq is. I know the subs say 600 watts RMS but I know damn well the bd 500.1 will put it to them lol

edit: Gally how much power were you running on them?

36-38hz is the golden tune for my taste for these subs...i was giving them around 900wRMS each, the amp was a mrp-M2000 by alpine
