98 lancer rhd low budget (slow build)

so i'm a university of the west indies student and im as broke as they come lol. My system is ultimate low budget and not put together very well. I plan on documenting the repairs, upgrades etc

Currently in the car is a pioneer headunit, boss tweeters, kenwood 2ch amplifier for mids, mtx 2ch for bass. I also have a audio control crossover with a 90hz chip (not working or installed at the moment, soon to be installed and repaired) And a 15" hifonics brutus subwoffer in a really crappy sealed box.

I just ordered a pair of quantam audio tweeters from audio savings, waiting for them to get to the fam in florida to be sent down to me. Next on the list is to get to the repair guy to drop the crossover off, and while installing it, clean up some of the filthy wiring then i'll be good for a while.

Then i've got to swap the headunit as it is old and starting to be problematic. cd tray not working. engine noise etc. The engine noise has been fixed for now. But i still want to change it. I am also running the factory mitsu mids which when on an external amplifier sound great, so im not in too big a rush to upgrade.

Last but not least the hifonics brutus 15" wired at 8ohm. I wired it to 8ohm because my last amp had trouble keeping up lol. I will keep it at 4ohm for now. Will be putting it in a spec box soon.

I did not know CAT made batts. Lol. But as for the "cheap as they come" builds, not bad. In my '10 lancer for my first build I got a kenwood head unit, 2 kenwood 10's, and an amp. Wasn't powerful but for a low budget? Was pretty nice. Still have the kenwood head unit but now seems like I'm rocking RF for everything else. How's the Hifonics holding up for you?

The hifonics so far is great. I'm loving every minute of it. Hey they are pretty good batteries, have no complaints! And this is one of many set ups i've had. My first set up was a kenwood headunit, a fusion monoblock and a clarion eq with a 12" orion cobalt sub. Then i swapped subs to a 12" dvc crunch subwoffer. Then it was a 6channel jl audio and a 10" kicker comp. lol. been through many set ups. Then a rockford 4 channel and the same kicker 10" (which i blew) and replaced with a kicker cvr 12", Then i added the audio control crossover. Shortly after that a friend made an offer on the rockford and the kicker so away they went. And i went back to the old fusion mono block and the Hifonics 15, and after about 4 months added the kewood for mids. and somewhere in there i swapped to the pioneer headunit and the crossover started to give trouble lol

Have a few updates. Sold the kenwood amp, its now in my friends van, powering 2 10" subs. I now have an alpine 2ch powering mids, and i've fixed the audio control crossover and added a pair of quantam audio tweeters.

Pioneer + engine noise and problems... If I said I'm impressed or surprised I would lie... But still they are the best HU imo if you are careful with and treat them well.

Thanks. The system puts a smile on my face as it is now. I love pioneer hu's but the engine noise issues get to me. I am considering an upgrade to an alpine hu, and an alpine type s 15".
