it kinda does mean brightness. it is color though but brightness is effected. it is usually easier to see with a whiter light. the further blue you go or further you deviate form white the dimmer the light appears on road.

I was look at the 12k on DDM. I have a H13 bulb for my headlamps. Do you suggest 35 watts or 55 watts?

DDM tuning is cheap. I've used them and wouldn't recommend them. Nor would I suggest putting hid bulbs in stock housings. I've done that too and wouldn't suggest it.

These guys are who I ultimately settled on. Good products and top notch customer service.

I'll check em' out. Always open to other suggestions.

In san antonio I see about 1 in 3 cars with HIDs. I've seen pink, green, purple, deep blue, and honestly i dont think the cops care as long as you don't blind them. In reality i would go above 8k just for the fact that after 8k you start getting deeper colors and visibility goes down the drain.

If you can afford the retro fit source HID kits i would recommend them they look way better built and ive heard nothing bad about them. I have the DDM kit and personally dont like the quality but i got what i paid for and they work at least.

I have been using luminisG4 for a while now.

they are really unexpensive and have never had any trouble with them.

my oldest set has been in my car for around 20months.

I've used at least 9 kits (different cars) from them and none has given any trouble.

So much wrong information here (and a refreshing amount of good info!)

The "color range" you want to be looking at is 4300k. Not "4300k-8k", or anything else. 4300k. Every factory hid on the road is 4300k. There is a reason. Dont waste your time, or compromise my safety by buying some garbage ricer hids, that look "cool" but have no usable light output. 12k is a blacklight btw.. Try driving with that, lmk how you do. Also, do not waste your time shoving them in your stock halogen housing. Your beam pattern will be terrible, and you will be a danger

No, just the things we use to see at night. No biggie.

well its not like they are suddenly both go out.

and even if they did I don't think its a life threatening situation. unless you're racing at lemans or some sort of rally..
