Series & Parallel wiring question

Recommended Posts

Another thing to consider - even if you could get the amp to double its output (which I doubt it would - when I hear 2600 watts, I think hifonics), you would gain less than 3 dB.

Just leave it and enjoy what you have borrowed.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Let's say your amp does 3000 watts at .57 ohms.

The 3 subs wired the same would get 425 watts each, while the single sub would get 1725.

I see what you mean....this will NOT work then since all 4 subs are in a single enclosure (1 chamber) ported. ;( i guess there is no other option other than save up and buy new crap.

so you're doing this build for your friend? just tell him there aren't any other options unless he wants to get more power and do it properly

nah...this is my set up but i'm using his amp. Just going to have to buy 4 ohm dual voice coil subs and get 2 amps.
