runner800
Components: (pics soon) Amp, RF R500-1D Subs, RF R2D2-12 Front speakers, Pioneer TS-G1644R 6.5in Head Unit, JVC KD-R530 Wires, DB link (smh) 8 gage (not CEA compliant)* Custom box vented tuned at 34hz *The amp can not draw more than 38 amps so the 8 gage wire on a 4ft run will be ok in theory but if it gets too hot I'll upgrade it to 4awg. grim83
uhhhm just for clarity sake no wire is "cea" compliant what you want is 8gauge awg (those three letters mean your not getting bullshitted...usually). also im taking a shot in the dark here and assuming the wire is cca (copper clad aluminum) and you probably did that math assuming its all copper so id check that because cca cant handle as much as ofc (oxygen free copper aka pure fuckin copper). also id say do it right the first time running and re running wire is a pain in the ass and its better to not try to cause a fire your first go round just sayin Quote team chat assholes ftmfcsw skittlesRgood[/color]' timestamp='1337803095' post='2027302'] go for it. 1st off, you couldnt get past the gate. second, i wouldnt even hear your system inside my house. third, i would just turn mine up and drown out your system, eat my skittles, and laugh at your pathetic ass. runner800
You are 100% correct on all counts. But the cost was non negotiable so its going to have to work haha, I'm not proud but i ran a similar amp in my ride for about a year on BS 8 gage so I think it will be alright. runner800
box design: total volume 3cu ft (after displacement) dual 3in ports about 9in long with a 1/2 round over flare custom milled trim ring hopefully wrapped in vinyl possibly painted black the whole thing will be braced even though I doubt the amount of power will show serious resonance issues. 321slapinbass
looks good. you might want to go with 4in ports, because the design you have now is only around 14in2 of port total. thats 4in2 per cube. aim for about 7-11in2 per cube when using round pvc ports.
