Yessir, correct on both accounts...

The car is a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic. Fortunately, it's just a loaner, til the Aveo is repaired...

The sonic is growing on me more everyday, but it's just not my color.

The Aveo went in for repairs last week. Gas mileage had dropped to around 18, and it was spitting and sputtering real bad. Would not get over about 3500RPMs. Mass Airflow Sensor had failed. New parts should be in Tuesday, then I can continue with my bass...

Also, in another disappointing development. The aveo is not as loud as it was before. I noticed that it had started sounding weird and the volume dropped off. So, I naturally started to investigate. Just in front of the sub, there's a place in between the two baffles that the paint chipped off. I put my hand to it, and can feel a pretty good sized air leak.

I had intentions of taking the sub out and trying to re-seal the baffles; but between work, school, and the Aveo sputtering, I haven't had a chance. I'll have more updates to follow once I get it back.

Apparently the Aveo had more problems than first expected. I was supposed to go pick it up today. Figured I'd call them before driving to Goldsboro. It was confirmed that it was still not repaired. I'll be driving the Sonic again tomorrow...

That just means I'll have to go to class, and take a night off work to drive and pick it up... if it's fixed...

On another note, I wrote my first CNC program today... It's a simple code, it runs a fly cutter over the surface of a block, then a roughing end mill around the block, and ends with a finishing end mill around the block...

Ok, I picked the car back up last night. Looks like they had to replace the Mass airflow sensor, and the catalytic converter.

I will say, I don't ever remember the car driving as good as it does now. It's very responsive.

I am glad to have my bass back... Although I still need to repair the air leak. I would have pics to post, but it's been way too cold. Updates coming soon.

Nice to see you got the aveo back man! Tuned in for the fix! Also I have an air leak (I think) around the ring of the sub just haven't had a chance to stop and check it out...

  • 4 weeks later...

Sorry for the lack of updates... I put a beauty panel on box and resealed baffles.

I'm about to start cutting a new box... I'll get you guys more details as I finalize the design. Got to make a few changes though... my port was only 8" off the roof line, NSPL rulebook says it had to be 12 or more.... ;-) This will be fixed...

Also, anyone know how to get up with Dom Iraggi???!?

I ended up selling my side-by-side fridge, freeing up some much needed space in there... Good to see my floor again... Still got some work to do though... Also, I apologize for the crappy pics, but was too lazy to walk in for camera then back out...
