Thanks bro... Aveo wouldn't be my first choice, but it's what I have and something different from what everyone else is doing.

I apologize for the lack in updates, but more will be trickling in soon. Just got new wiring for the 4-channel, should be an interesting rebuild coming up.

Now, what I've been waiting for... My new Iraggi 320A alt.... Just came in today... enjoy ;-)

Stock comparison coming soon. Then we'll see how voltage fairs, and possibly meter again.

As promised, here's a stock vs. built alternator comparison.

Now, as you can see, there's not much difference in the two. Windings look larger inside the Iraggi case, and it's quite a bit heavier. Below is another side-by side pic, followed by the real problem. The new alt is machined so that it sits farther back from the mount, so that the new pulley lines up... The problem is that the case now will hit the intake manifold, if mounted normally.

The picture below shows the mounting brackets just how they'd mount to the motor, and just how far back the alt will sit.

Here are the pics where I began the installation.

DSC02974_zps5aa2e07d.jpg

DSC02973_zps4ec74522.jpg

I took an old tensioner bracket I had laying around, and drilled it out a bit. So that I could mount the alt, just an inch or so off the regular mount, to give me the clearance necessary.

Now, I got everything mounted, but the tension on the belt pulls the alt at an angle. I didn't like this at all, but I tested it. It worked last night. Belt came off as soon as I started the car this morning. I'll have to have another bracket at the back of the alt and front to keep it from hanging at an angle.

I think the first thing I'll do, is talk with Iraggi tomorrow. I think we can come up with a quick and easy mount to make this work, and so he'll know for future alt builds. Plus, we'll have to use a different belt based off of how much we angle the alt off of the original bracketing.

I know you will be able to figure it out man. Good luck to you! Thanks for the help with my car the other day too bro. Let me know when you begin on the new box and fiberglassing if you want or need any help just swing me a text... Building is one of the most challenging yet enjoyable things this hobby had to offer and you got to love that bass payoff!

@SMZ2: No problem bro, glad I could help and it was that simple a fix, lol

I'll hopefully be starting a little work on it this week....

I finally did get the alternator on. I bought some steel bushings and some 2x4 strapping brackets, drilled and cut them down, and she's mounted. Voltage is great, alt is definitely helping in a big way. I, unfortunately, was sick and trying to make this happen quick-like, and did not take any pics. I will try to remedy this when I get to working on the new box...

What is this!!!!??? Any guesses?!?!?
