The Voice coil is perfect... It burned the tinsel leads and broke them at the triple joint. I CA'd the hell outta the triple joint and it was playing until the tinsel lead broke... If I had known that was the problem, I woulda soldered direct leads in and beat on it until it separated completely... Hindsight is 20/20... While I was rewiring the car, I found the problem to my recent voltage drop issues. Apparently, the wire from my alternator had severed itself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. It is a great bracing for the baffle, but it also allows my baffle to be removable.
