kevinsong Posted August 28, 2012 Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 So im new to the forum and wanted some advice. I sold my old systems: Dual kicker comp then a single kicker cvr. I upgraded big time this time. I ordered two Sundown SA-12 dvc 4 ohm 12 inch subs and need to get amp and make a box. For the amp i was thinking a hifonics brz 1500? Is there a amp that might be better around the same price range? I want to stick to $250-350 price range but if i can get so much more for adding a few more bucks im willing to. I drive a two door regular cab toyota tundra. I measured and the back space is about 4 ft long, 2 ft tall, and 1 foot wide. I would want to have a little space for my book bags and stuff. So i was wondering if anyone can help give some good dimensions for this box. I definately want the box ported. So what should the dimensions be for the box and what would be the best amp to power these subs. Also any reviews on the subs i just ordered? Thanks alot!! kevinsong Posted August 28, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 the lowest price i saw on the sundown saz 1500 was like 450 a little too high for me. but tylerparrish please please please help me. i know how to make the box it just that i dont know too much about the dimensions perfect for the subs. i listen to mainly rap, hip hop, and country. what should i tune it to? TylerParrish Posted August 28, 2012 Report Share Posted August 28, 2012 It all depends on what bass your looking for, i have no experience with those subs, but I would say tune around 34, 35 Hz for daily. Around 3-3.5 cubes for a box for those 2 subs. I can't tell you the details of what box tuning actually does for you (read a lot, don't remember it, maybe some more experienced people will chime in to help with that one). But ill be happy to mock you up a box design and let's see where this thread goes from there. Oh, and look around a little harder, and a little bit more for that amp, If nothing comes up, maybe by that time I'll sell you my sundown 1500, but PM me about that.
