okay so i have 2 kicker 12" comps in a ported box it is a 4.1 cubic ft box the dimentions are 31x16x14.5 and they are hooked up to a kicker 400.1 with tht said i think we all know tht this amp puts out 400 watts at 2 ohms and 200 watts at 4 ohms well my subs r currently wired at 4 ohms at the amp so their only getting 200 watts and when i turn the volume up and turn up the bass level on the kicker remote my amp shuts off once i back the bass level on the remote jst a bit it starts playing again i dont understand why it does that they should handle that amp like nothing and like i said their only taking 200 watts not even the full 400 and if i wire them in parallel for a 2 ohm load well its even worse

at 4 ohms when i turn up the volume on my hu bout 1/4th then the bass remote to about 1/2 it starts shutting off

and at 2 ohms it starts shutting off not even at 1/2 way up on the bass remote

please help me someone

i also have a clarion eq the 7 band one and the sub level there is up to about half

please help me with a solution to what the problem is

it got profesionally hooked up a few weeks ago and the guy wired them at 4ohms i dont know why

any help appreciated thanks

If I am not mistaken those subs are single 4 ohm and 150 watts rms each, hence the can either be wired to an 8 ohm (series connection) or 2 ohm final load (parallel connection) with a total rms of 300 watts.

At 2 ohms final load you will be giving them 200 watts rms each (over powered), At 8 ohms you will be giving them 50 watts rms each (low power).

Additionally, your clarion eq is a 7 volt pre output, hence will need a lower gain setting.

Try turning down your amp gain.
