ewilliams5430 Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 I just purchased a new d3400 and I have a few questions, Should I just throw the new battery in the stock location under the hood? Or should I put it in the back and wire it up to the stock battery? Would wiring it up to the stock battery drain this new one because the stock is older? My amplifier requires an external 250a fuse and I plan on redoing my 4 gauge in 0. I need a distro block anyway so, fuse 0 gauge with 300a before distro? Then fuse 4 gauge with 250a?
Raptorman Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 I've hear that it's suggested to have the strongest battery in the front. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. ewilliams5430 Posted September 8, 2012 Author Report Posted September 8, 2012 would a stock battery in the back even be beneficial then? or just get rid of it
Raptorman Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Honestly don't know on that one, wait til someone else can chime in. But I'd say it would benefit at least a little bit. Guest Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 dont run wet cell batteries in the trunk or the interior of the car. they emit gasses that can kill you and can spark and cause a huge fire if anything goes wrong. lots of people dont recommend running wet cells with agm's. so i'd just run the agm under the hood and keep the wet cell in the garage or something in case you need it for one reason or another.

Guest Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 250 amps is 0 gauge territory. 4 gauge can handle upwards of 150amps. i suggest you do the big 3 if you haven't already. since your amp requires 0 gauge, just run a line of 0 from the xs power under the hood to the amp in the trunk. fused at 250 amps, of course. how come you need a distro block?
ewilliams5430 Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 I need a block because my amp only takes 4 gauge lol not 0
Raptorman Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 You need a reducer not a distro block. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. ewilliams5430 Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 I'm also running 8 gauge for a 4 channel, so I'm gonna use a block
