trpkkd
I bought a used pioneer amp at a swap meet was told that it worked but had no way of testing so I took the guys word for it. I hooked it up in place of my other amp that I had no problems with and every time I turn it up to about 3/4 volume the amp cuts out and then comes back on when I turn it down does anyone know what could be causing this? Guest
how did you set the gains.
trpkkd
I don't a dd1 or anything I just turned it to just under half and left it. I have the same amp just an older model did the same thing and never had a problem. I know that's not the proper way but I live in northern michigan and there aren't to many bassheads up here so no access to a dd1 but I do plan on purchasing a one soon. Jessica
Can we get a model number of the amp and what ohm load it is seeing? trpkkd
It was hooked up to a memphis power reference 12 4ohm svc. The model # is gm 5100t if I remember correctly it has a normal setting on the gain that's just under half and that's where I set it to.

trpkkd
Ok cool I will try that tomorrow but I still don't think that's why it's cutting out. I was wondering if it could be something internal that could be fixed or if I should just junk it?
