Do I even need to upgrade my alt?

I'm planning to Install a T1000-1bdcp and a T400-4 into my 2011 Ford Focus. I'm pretty sure a 110 amp alt isn't going to power both. I've looked around the net and it seems that only DC Power makes a HO alt for my car. I really don't want to spend $550 on just the alt if I don't have to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think those amps wouldn't push your car's electrical limits. But that's my 2 cents. I have a T1500-1bdcp which in a sense, does just a tad bit more power than both your amps combined and it's fine. I have a stock alt which is same as yours... 110 amps. Only problem I've noticed is dimming lights, but that's when it's basically full volume.

As far as who all makes one for your car, I'm also sure mechman does too, just may have to be custom built. But probably be around that price, never hurts to check though. So I'd call/email.

You could do the big 3 rather than the alt, and that should help... if you have any problems with electrical. Big 3 should solve your electrical problems (if any) since you're not going crazy and having like 4 2k watt amps or whatnot. And big 3 is a lot cheaper...

Or you could just buy an xs power batt or 2 and call it a day

Big 3 in 1/0 and some 1/0 power/ground with AGM front & AGM rear and you should be okay.

I've heard of people running 2800w RMS on the stock alt of these cars with two batts without having any noticeable light dimming, but I wasn't too sure if the power output was legit. Considering the fact that Mitsubishi makes the alt in this car I'd assume I'd get similar results to your Lancer.

The batt in my car is a little special and XS doesn't make anything that fits directly. I was thinking relocate the battery to the back and not have any issues with the physical size of any batts. Is that a bad idea?

dont look on the company site for alts. calling them is the best method. they have TONS more models than they list online.

I"m sure they have the batts with big 3 done, as 2800RMS is too much power for stock wiring. Definite voltage drop. So if you did big 3, and even got just one good batt, that probably will take care of everything. If not, just another batt will do.

As for putting the batt in the back, I'd just be worried about all the wiring. Having absolutely no batt under the hood and only in the back? Means EVERYTHING will have to have wiring re-done and I would think that'd be a horrible idea. Starter, lights, alt, etc... all gotta be run through the entire length of the car. If there's ever a problem, such as a short, good luck finding it. I've seen some builds here where people modify their battery holder under the hood. I'm sure you could do that. If you couldn't, as XS said in another thread, doesn't matter how you have the sizes of batteries. I'd just make sure both AGM. So if that's a small one under hood and then big one in the back, do what ya gotta.

Well I just have one power wire going that batt so I don't think a whole lot of rewiring would need to be done. I'm mostly concerned about voltage drop from the alt to the back because it would be a much longer run than across the engine bay.
