Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.

  • 4 weeks later...

did this little fun show last week, was for a opening of a new building at the local uni so volume wasnt the aim it was dispersion so i hired some EV's instead of using my mackie350's all around. I was running 12 delay speakers all over the building (luckily it was a technology department building) so i just sent my signal through cat5 through the walls. and out of the closest port to the speakers lol easy! all the closest ones i used some speak IEM packs i had lying around and sent the signal through them hence the decent shure bat you can see

the delays were more elx112's ontop of a 118 (just to keep iceman happy) hah I did actually run them because he spoke so highly of them and IMO i wont be buying any, but they are decent speakers for sure, just nothing separating them from something i have already so yeah.... but I can see how he likes them except for the subs.... EW!! lol as you can see i changed the main ones out for the only other subs I had in my warehouse! lol i really didnt like them even though i was using them on a different matrix to the tops so i had crossover control

anyway, i had a mix of acts come through the stage had people playing for 8 hours a day for 2 days then a after party thing later on

Only took a couple of videos, did the entire gig from my ipad, ls9 side of stage so i only took a couple of videos as i needed the ipad to ya know.... do work lol

The EV's aren't the best to be used in larger scale stuff, two per side is going to give you issues with comb filtering. I like them for a nice even flat sound. And yes, the subs are horrible IMHO. They're designed to work together but not for bigger stuff. Mine will be my monitors for the time being until I upgrade again.

there was such a big dead spot in the middle that there was no way any comb filtering was happening hahaah

for on the last 3 videos only the right of each stack are being used lol. i didnt need more then that but kept them up there anyway
