D2700 cost more than D3400 why???

Recommended Posts

well i need to know if a used d2700 would be safe to buy.. and also will a d2700 be enough for 3000 watts rms?

No way can one d2700 run 3000rms. I have an 03 Dakota 4.7 and a d2700 and got major dimming on 1500 watts! Got a singer 250amp alt and another xp3000 and I'll be running 2500rms. Its probably overkill but there's no way one d2700 on stock alt will support 3000rms

hazard i talked to mechman, i would get a 270 amp alt, but my idle is at 500-600 so he recommends the 240 amp over the 270 bcuzz of output...

and you have a d3400 under your hood? on how many watts? like 2500? i know you have 3 amps..

NOTHING DOWN HERE YET :(

Ive got a 2002 Dakota with the 4.7. I just threw a d2700 in there (only battery) and I'm getting zero dimming with a Crescendo bc2k at .7 ohms nominal...

yeah, im around 2500 right now and i have the d3400. you can adjust your idle so its higher and you would want to rev your engine to 2,000 rpm when giving demos or playing your system loud anyway.
