I am wondering if anyone has used them or has any experience with them could give me an idea or opinion on the right box for them. Eclipse says 4 cubic feet per sub but that sounds kinda small cause I had 2 15" eclipse sw9152 in a ported box 4.7 cubes each. Any help would be appreciated. These are the only specs i could find... 3000 rms 5000 max Size: 18 Inch FS: 24 Hz Qts: 0.17 DCR: 1 Ohm / Coil Vas: 5.7 Cubic Feet Xmax: 3.5" Peak to Peak (4" Max)
RAM_Designs Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 Since these like small boxes, it does take a good amount of power to really get them moving in such a small box(I'd do a 9ft^3 common chamber and tune to 30hz, as a common box suggestion). The key is clean power with these. If you get an amp that can't easily push the two subs, you're going to push that amp into clipping trying to get these things loud, and they'll be toast before you know it...seen it happen a few times. If you can do a kerfed opening, then you can get away with a little less port and keep your port length down. But if just a normal slot port, something like 160-180in^2 of port.
