StreetMetalBen
So im ready to buy myself a new 12 as a late birthday present! Haha, Its going into a 90 Civic Sedan as a trunk wall. Right now i have a RF600.1 and plan on keeping it for while.... but I know I will be upgrading in the future. So should i purchase the SA-12 or the Zv3 12"? Will my 600 RMS not be enough for the Zv3 and possible damage it by underpower? OR should i just get the SA and then when I'm ready to upgrade, do it all together? Thanks in advance! Jessica
underpowering wont hurt anything. Trying to compensate for low power by clipping will. I can't recommend which of those two to get. all i can say is every time i buy something i find myself 6 months later wishing i would have saved up for more powa! more more more. Sonic
There is nothing such as damaging a sub by underpowering it, get the Z, build the proper enclosure and upgrade the amp later.

He is correct, that will damage your sub, so, set your gain correctly.

Please ask the box calculator/builder in the subsection, i have no clue of this. Nikitaaa
The sa might be slightly louder on lower power. I've got two zv3's and they take some power to get moving. It shouldn't be to huge of a difference though, if you're going to upgrade anyways, if buy the Z.
