Truconcept Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Hi, I am going to buy a kinetik for my trunk I would like to have both batterys wired together for that extra power incase the kinetik needs it (i dont have a capacitor nor do i believe in them) I dont have a super powerful amplifier so im not pulling crazy power My question is: if i have both batts wired together could this cause any damage to my amplifiers since theyre not the same? (voltage drops or whatever) (i understand series & parallel) Also do I have to use 1/0 gauge for safety? because I have tons of 4gauge I would like 2 use 2 hook up the kinetik Just out of curiosity if i were to ground the amp in the trunk to the frame should i put it with same ground as my amps are on? (idk much about batts or making bad ground loops or anything for that matter) thanks alot! **actin bad like a kid at six flags**

94jettameowpsst Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 From what I gather regular batteries charge at a different rate than agm batts IE kinetic and you could potentially blow up a battery. I ran an optima yellow and a regular battery for a year with no issue so to each their own. 0 gauge carries more current than other wire sizes so I'd run 0 to keep the power up. 150.1 @ 38hz142.3 @ 20hz (windows down)Only 2 batteries
