Bass reconstructor

Recommended Posts

Before I was knowledgeable on car audio I bought a Hifonics BXiPRO2.0 bass reconstructor and now that I'm about to purchase 2 Fi 15's and amps for them I am unsure if I should continue to use it or not, I have heard they can distort the music. What do you guys think?

This question gets asked a lot, I hear they are good for bringing out the bass in music that lacks it where it should be present. Many friends of mine who listen to a lot of Latin music have had good results with Epicenters and other processors.

I'm gonna hate

Ya I've heard the same in the research I've done, but also was told by a local car audio store that it can destroy your amp, whether that's true or not I'm not sure. If its not going to hurt my system I would like to keep it considering it would just sit in my garage if I took it out.

I don't think you would really need it, If you listen to Decaf/Rap/etc it isn't going to help and probably hurt a bit.. Latin music/maybe a few other genre's are the only ones i've ever seen it do any good, though I didn't have my DD-1 at the time I was messing with one for a friend, so I couldn't tell if it was distorting or not.

EDIT: My experience is with an epicenter, I imagine there all pretty similar though..
