Flat Feet, they SUCK!

Recommended Posts

So i'm a pretty active person, i love staying in shape(running and weight lifting), and participating in physical activities/sports.

but something has been plaguing me for the past several years, i would always feel sharp, overwhelming pains in the arches of my feet.

it would usually happen a lot when i was running track, participating in marching band(drum line specifically) and wrestling(as i would dig into the mat while i sprawled i guess this stretched my foot and put particular stress on my arches)

now i've watched some videos of some foot specialist and surgeons, and there's two types: Congenital and functional.

congenital at birth, and function is when you have a arch at rest, but flattens when weight is applied.

i look at my feet and they appear to have an arch but when i stand, i immediately notice no space in between my "arch" and the ground.

i always look at the structure of my entire leg, and notice the structure suffering as well. my leg is slightly off linear and my feet tend to slant inward at rest.

so i've notice if i rotate my feet slight outward i feel stress in my calves, not a joint or harmful stress, but i feel a muscle in my calves flaring when i do this. i also feel less discomfort in my knees, my back and i can noticeably breathe easier.

i will continue this "exercise" since it seems to work a muscle in my calves. i hope this will help strengthen muscles in my legs completely to help straight my legs, fix overall discomfort and most important the pain and structure inefficiency of the arches of my feet.

if you're interested or suffer some similar symptoms, or just plain curious, this guy on YouTube describes outside factors that might cause this:
