How to tune an amp with too much power

Can a good ole digital multimeter do that?

If you can't afford a DD1 right now then this can get you close. This was the method many used before the DD1 came out. Most won't agree, but you can use a multimeter. Just set it to AC volts and turn the amp's gains until they match what is displayed on the image below as compared to the desired Ohm load. I included a link with step-by-step instructions to guide you. Again, this is not 100% accurate and your system may still be set a little too high or too low, but it'll at least get you in the ballpark. Good luck and be smart with it. If something does not sound/smell right then just turn it down a little. amplifiersettingchart.jpg
