Factory or re-cone??? on Yamaha SW218v

Recommended Posts

Recones. Also. Remember that you don't want to run two different subs, so you would have to buy two possibly 4 new drivers to keep them all the same

What would happen if I ran 2 different makes of drivers in it? I obviously would make sure they the same ohm and power ratings.

If you're feeling DOWN & OUT, it's time to get UP & IN

All drivers act different. Even if they are the same ratings. They sound different aswel. And have different Xmas. Many different reasons not to do it

Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.

If you're going to stick with them, recone them with factory stock recones.

Just as an FYI, I had a set of the single 18" boxes, they are some of the worst sounding PA subs IMHO. Way too boomy and rumbly, not enough definition, and you had to give them too much power to get any real volume with them.

POTATO!
