beaker
It is possible to run car gear in a house, but its kinda re-inventing the wheel. I think you'll be a lot happier getting stuff thats ment to run home speakers. Most newer budget recievers even have crossover points you can set for youre speakers. ds1919
you can run car gear in home, but for large amps it starts to get pricey. Why? because you need to get a power supply that can handle the current demand(s) of the amp(s). This power supply changes the household 110v AC power into 12v DC power in which your car amps/gear requires. For anything over 100amps (amps over 1000watts), it gets expensive. But for me, I have a Linear Power car amp that sounds soooooooo good that I would consider using it for home. Its ear candy! Its wattage is 150w, so I can get a relatively small power supply. Check out your local thrift shops, you can sometimes find great deals on home audio. I found a lot of high end NAD gear at some of my local shops. If you're a young kid, I suggest taking the time to experiment with building/woodworking/wiring etc. You'll learn a lot and it can be fun! You got lots of time. gl
