Skrilla
Looks like a decent first build. There are a couple things I would change. First, your power supply is way overkill. It would be a good option if you plan on upgrading in the future to 3-way+ SLI, but for your setup, it's way more than you need. I would go with something like this (http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139010) it will still support SLI if you wanted to throw in a second 660 down the road. Second, I would go with the I-5 3570K over the 3570. The "K" means it can be overclocked and since your motherboard has the ability to overclock, might as well get it. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116504 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D
thecityxignites
okay, i'll check those out. thanks. other than that, are all the parts compatible? will it all fit in the case well? i dont want to drop $1,000 to build a computer, and have parts not be compatible. im mainly going to be using it to edit 1080p videos from my gopro. 2001 chevy cavalier Rebuild in progress what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? BobbyG2
In addition to the above ^ I'd change out the RAM, you don't need 16GB of RAM, I'd save some money and get two sets of this: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820231474 With the money you save on the RAM and the power supply, you might be able to step up a slot in your graphics card. Other than that, yeah it's all compatible, and it all looks good, just needs a little tweeking and you're good to go! And you got a full-tower, when you get it, you'll realize how silly you were when you were worrying about stuff fitting inside it. *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
Skrilla
Yes. It will all fit in the case you have with plenty of extra room. I would also recommend an aftermarket CPU cooler. The stock Intel one is crappy, and if you plan on overclocking, it's pretty much a must. 2 HDC3 18's AQ2200D
thecityxignites
after i took those screenshots, i realized the motherboard is only a dual channel, so i only need two sticks of ram. i changed it to two of the vengance, instead of four. what video card would you recommend? this is all new to me, so im willing to learn and take advice. keep in mind, i cant afford a $500 video card. i was kind of looking into the aftermarket cpu coolers, but i don't really think im going to be overclocking. overclocking is mainly for gaming, right? 2001 chevy cavalier Rebuild in progress what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? BobbyG2
If my calculations are correct, with the savings on your PSU and RAM, you should be able to afford an $405 card. You'll still be saving money over the original build getting one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130782 If you didn't mind spending an extra $55, you can get the second best card from nVidea (Best Single-GPU card) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130768 *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
thecityxignites
would the cheaper one that you posted still allow me to playback 1080p? i will be using my 40" 1080p Toshiba LCD tv as the monitor, connected with hdmi. also, another question i have is what kind of keyboard/mouse combo should i be looking at? i found this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823852001 but i dont want to feel like im texting on my phone. 2001 chevy cavalier Rebuild in progress what happens when your CD player skips and you accidentally drop a 22 hz sine bomb at an unholy volume on 7-8 year old subs? BobbyG2
The cheaper one will allow you to playback 3 different 1080p videos on 3 different screens, and still feel like it's doing nothing. Lol And you don't have to go with that keyboard/mouse combo if you don't like it, there's tons of different keyboard and mouse combos there, pick one you like, it doesn't make much of a difference lol *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
